From virgin to recycled polymers

Virgin materials are the material of choice for the outdoor industry where safety and technical performance are the first criteria for material selection. And the outdoor industry certainly has pushed the boundaries of material performance

  • Lightweight
  • Durability
  • Performance in extreme weather conditions

It is needless to say that tapping into virgin feedstock is not sustainable in the long run. In the past we have seen an increasing use of recycled content, mainly in textiles. Recycled PET bottles find their way to clothing, recently even in the most technical segments of the premium brands. However there is still a long way to go if we also want to use recycled materials in lifesaving equipment.
